Freightzy, a Canadian logistics startup, has launched what it calls the country’s most accessible refrigerated less-than-truckload (Reefer LTL) program, aiming to help small and mid-sized businesses (SMEs) secure affordable cold chain shipping without high-volume thresholds.

“Cold chain shouldn’t be out of reach for growing companies,” said Sean Freedman, founder of Freightzy, in a news release. “With Freightzy, SMEs no longer have to choose between unreliable service and sky-high costs.”

The new program gives SMEs access to more than 70 pre-vetted temperature-controlled carriers, along with warehousing options, rapid quotes, and real-time tracking via a mobile platform supported by 24/7 human assistance. Freightzy says the service simplifies refrigerated shipping across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.

The company says its Reefer LTL product allows SMEs to avoid high-volume minimums while still accessing reliable temperature-controlled shipping. Quotes are delivered in less than 10 minutes, with transparent pricing and consistent capacity. The company’s custom-built mobile portal offers real-time tracking and shipment visibility, while optional cold storage warehousing provides flexibility for scaling businesses.

The offering supports a range of industries beyond perishable food and beverage producers, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, horticulture, meal kits, subscription boxes, and craft beverages.

Freightzy reports 95% on-time delivery and a 95% customer retention rate across its services. Founded in Guelph in 2020 and now headquartered in Toronto, the company claims it has doubled its revenue over the past three years and continues to expand its suite of LTL, FTL, expedited, and intermodal shipping services.
