Friction Mats aid Load Securement

NRI Industries offers the ‘Load-Grip’ friction mat that’s said to reduce load movement “by a proven factor of eight.” Made from fiber-reinforced masticated rubber, the mats provide tear and stretch resistance and a high coefficient of friction. Speeds as low as 2.5 mph can affect a load, says NRI. All anti-skid mats used in conjunction with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) regs must meet the required minimum friction coefficient of 0.8g. The Load-Grip mat has a rating of 1.15g. Each mat comes with a yellow
colour band for quick and easy identification for highway inspectors. Based in Toronto, NRI says it’s North America’s largest manufacturer of recycled rubber products.
