Fridge Plus Rooftop AC

Dometic introduces commercial-grade rooftop AC plus a 50-liter built-in drawer refrigerator

Dometic has announced the release of a commercial-grade rooftop air conditioner for trucks. It’s designed especially to overcome harsh and unusual road and weather conditions for heavy-duty cooling in tough environments.

The company is also introducing the CD-50 built-in drawer refrigerator for use in sleeper cabs. The unit features a large freezer compartment that’s removable if the driver wants to maximize refrigeration space in the 50-liter unit.

The Dometic commercial-grade AC unit is rugged yet light, the company says, weighing 91 lb. It features a top plate made of .040 galvanized steel, and the powder-coated base pan is said to be 15% thicker than other models.

The unit controls vibration with strong L brackets that tie the motor, compressor, and evaporator together. It also features long copper lines and dual rubber bushings at the top and bottom of the unit to control noise and vibration.

The CD-50 drawer refrigerator is said to feature ultra-quiet operation and minimal power consumption, with a continuously variable thermostat. Its freezer compartment can hold three large-sized frozen meals, and it’s removable to fit more or larger items needing refrigeration only. The unit’s locking mechanism keeps the door securely closed.

The CD-50 is powered by a fully hermetic high-efficiency compressor with integrated control electronics. It’s connection-ready for 12/24V DC operation and has low-voltage protection.
