Garmin dashcam provides views on demand

Garmin Dash Cam Live is an always-connected LTE dash cam that can offer an on-demand view of everything in sight of the camera.

It also alerts drivers about potential thefts and other incidents when they’re parked and away from the vehicle.

Recordings are made using high-definition 1440p video and a 140-degree field of view, with the Garmin Clarity HDR optics offering crisp details at any time of the day, the company says.

Video clips are automatically stored online for 24 hours and can be accessed using the Garmin Drive smartphone app. And they’re tagged with times, dates and locations thanks to the built-in GPS.

The LTE connections also mean the video clips can be shared without Wi-Fi access.

Drivers can also use voice commands to control the unit – saving video, stopping or starting recordings, and taking still pictures while hands remain on the wheel.
