Geotab introduces AI-driven Driver Risk Insights
Geotab has launched Driver Risk Insights, an AI-powered enhancement to its Safety Center it says helps fleets assess and mitigate collision risks at the driver level.
The company says the new tool shifts the focus from vehicle-based data to driver-specific analysis, providing fleet managers with a more precise approach to risk management.
According to a news release, Driver Risk Insights leverages AI to evaluate driver-specific behaviors and historical trends, delivering percentage-based collision risk assessments for each driver.
The tool also allows fleets to benchmark driver performance with similar drivers within their fleet or across different fleets using Geotab’s anonymized aggregate data set. It also provides proactive coaching through the Geotab Drive App.
Built on insights from over 4.7 million connected vehicles, the tool enables fleet managers to identify high-risk drivers and implement targeted interventions to prevent accidents. By analyzing driving behaviors such as harsh braking, speeding, and following distance, the system helps reduce liability and improve overall fleet performance, the release reads.
“Fleets can’t afford to rely only on reactive safety measures,” said Sabina Martin, vice-president of product management at Geotab. “With AI-powered Driver Risk Insights, we’re giving fleet managers and drivers a predictive edge — helping them prevent collisions before they happen, reduce costs, and create a culture of continuous safety improvement.”
