GUSTAFSON QUITS AS HEAD OF VOLVO TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Volvo Trucks North America Inc. president and chief executive officer Marc Gustafson has resigned.

Karl-Erling Trogen, senior vice-president AB Volvo, has been appointed acting president and chief executive officer of the company, effective Feb. 2.

Gustafson joined Volvo Trucks North America in 1996, and led the introduction of new products including the Volvo VN 770, VN 660, and the VHD series.

He also spearheaded the Cost-Per-Mile program.

Trogen returns to Volvo Trucks North America where he was president from 1991 to 1994. Most recently, Trogen served as a member of the Volvo Group Executive Committee.

Volvo Trucks is currently reorganizing its operations.
