Haldex signs brake air compressor deal with major engine manufacturer
STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Haldex’s Air Management Division has announced it has inked a deal with a major global diesel engine manufacturer to supply the truck brake system air compressors for their North American models.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin late in 2005 with an estimated order value of US$75 million over the life of the contract.
Haldex officials announced this is an important strategic step in regaining leadership in engine-mounted compressors for air brake systems and to fulfill the company’s strategy to supply the global heavy truck market with complete air brake systems.
Haldex says its high output twin-cylinder compressor boasts the highest drive-through torque capacity and highest turbocharged inlet pressure capability in the industry.
