Harper Power Prods adds vocational engine brand to lineup

TORONTO — Paul and Steve Harper, owners of the Harper Group, have added the DEUTZ engine line to the Harper Power Products portfolio.

The DEUTZ engine joins the company’s strong offering of commercial engine and transmission products from MTU, Mercedes-Benz, Detroit Diesel and Allison to the Ontario market.

DEUTZ offers power products for a wide variety of market segments, including mining, construction to industrial and agricultural.

“DEUTZ has a solid history in the engine business, and their product aligns perfectly with Harper’s plans for growth through expanded offerings in existing markets,” said Steve Harper, co-chairman and CEO of Harper Group Inc. “This addition strengthens our business and provides greater efficiencies for our customers.”

Harper Power Products Inc. is now the sole distributor in Ontario for DEUTZ engines and will offer sales, parts and service through their existing network of six locations.

“The DEUTZ product further strengthens our presence in Ontario, adds a product line that compliments our existing infrastructure and provides our customers with a broader range of engine solutions,” said Paul Harper.

Added President John Cosgrove: “Harper Power Products Inc. has a long history in the engine business serving a wide variety of customers,” said. “Given our expertise, the expansion of our engine portfolio with the DEUTZ product is a logical step in Harper’s evolution.”
