Heartland Express orders 2,800 trucks from International

WARRENVILLE, Ill. Heartland Express, Inc. has ordered 2,800 International 9400i trucks, the manufacturer announced today.

The trucks will replace Heartland’s current fleet of trucks over the next three years.

Deliveries of the truck order will begin in May 2004 and continue through the end of 2006.

Heartland Express, Inc. (NASDAQ: HTLD) is an irregular route truckload carrier of general commodities. The company provides service mainly short-to-medium-haul truckload market. Principal traffic lanes lie east of the Rocky Mountains however the company does provide select team service to the West Coast markets.

International Truck and Engine Corporation is the operating company of Navistar International Corporation (NYSE: NAV). The company produces International brand commercial trucks, mid-range diesel engines and IC brand school buses and is a private label designer and manufacturer of diesel engines for the pickup truck, van and SUV markets.
