Hendrickson improving air flow

CANTON, Ohio — Hendrickson recently began production on its AKAD1001 faster flowing lift axle air control kit.

The testing on the kit showed it nearly doubles the airflow factor while improving performance in temperatures from -40 to 180 degrees F and when used in a poor air quality atmosphere.

The kit is approved for INTRAAX and HT SERIES lift suspensions and features a number of improved components such as a ball valve, a pilot valve and a solenoid valve, all of which are more efficient than spool-type valves. The kit also has a gauge and a regulator fitted in a fibreglass-reinforced closure.

The Pilot ports and potential water traps face downwards or are sometimes placed above exhaust ports to help prevent water from collecting. The AKAD1001 features a more accurate and readable liquid filled gauge and enhanced durability and corrosion resistance.
