MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Hino has concluded its search for some of its most rugged trucks and has awarded three of the owners with vacations.

"We were very interested to know more about any Hino trucks dating back to the 1970s that are still going strong," explained Alan Masters, vice-president of Hino Motors Sales Canada. "It is remarkable to think that Hino received customer testimonials stating that their vehicles have clocked more then one million kilometres with few repairs and are still delivering the goods! Hino wanted to find these amazing trucks and reward their owners for their outstanding loyalty."

The awards presentation was held at a recent gala dinner in Toronto, attended by more than 340 Canadian Hino dealers, customers and suppliers. The winners included: George & Rosemarie Balash of St. Paul, Alta. for their 1985 Hino FF195 in third place. They won a trip for two to Las Vegas. Maurice Bodin of Markerville, Alta. took second place with his 1978 Hino 2.5-ton. He won a trip for two to London, England. And the grand prize winner was Karlis Kalnins of Vancouver, B.C. for his 1975 Hino KL 440 which won him a cruise for two in Greece.
