HOPPER TRAILER

Timpte Trailers has introduced a new 40-ft ‘combo/tender’ hopper trailer and an ‘Easy Flow’ hydraulic remote-control trap-opening system. It’s a multi-purpose grain hopper that can be used year-round because of its removable auger system, designed to move bulk fertilizer or seed efficiently, the company says.

Features include a removable auger, with flighting "that won’t rust." After the fertilizer season users can just remove the auger unit and the trailer becomes a conventional grain hopper.

Unloading is claimed to be fast, up to 4000 lb per minute with proper hydraulic system and PTO.

The trap-opening system has two hydraulic cylinders installed on each side of the trap frame. The operator can open the trap from the road-side rear of the trailer or from the truck cab, or use the supplied wireless remote control.

Premium biodegradable hydraulic fluid flows from the reservoir in the apex to the cylinders through stainless steel lines that won’t rust or corrode, Timpte says. The hydraulic reservoir is constructed of a non-metallic material that won’t rust either. Hydraulic pressure is such that the doors open fully and close easily, but are said to be easy to control. The Easy Flow controls allow the doors to be opened gradually while unloading if needed.

Electrical connectors and radio receiver are enclosed inside the control box to protect them from the elements.
