Hyundai Translead platform taps into multiple sensors

Hyundai Translead’s HT LinkSense is an open-platform smart trailer system that integrates with an array of telematics partners – including CalAmp, Orbcomm, Phillips Connect, PowerFleet, Road Ready, Sensata, Xirgo, SkyBitz, and Spireon.

The fully integrated system offers a tool to track and monitor trailer performance in real time.

Available sensors monitor cargo volumes in five different zones; report weights on air and spring suspensions; detect door positions; monitor air disc brake pad wear; and track the air pressure in the parking and service brake lines on each brake chamber to spot issues like dragging. Other sensors monitor lights, wheel end temperatures, and tire pressure.

An optional solar and battery power system ensures continuous operation.

Since it’s a factory-installed option, Hyundai Translead says it can ensure quality control and superior warranty coverage.

The system will initially be released in dry vans, but there are plans to expand it to refrigerated, flatbed, chassis and aftermarket products in the fture.
