International mixer package sheds weight

International’s HV Series is shedding weight, with a new mixer package that removes more than 1,000 lb.

The new HV50B package will haul up to 9.75 cubic yards of concrete while remaining under a gross vehicle weight of 66,000 lb. Based on current values, a U.S. user that’s currently limited to 9 cubic yards of concrete could increase revenue by $750 per day, the OEM adds.

The weight savings came through features such as an all-aluminum bumper, a front suspension that was optimized to allow for a lower hood height, and a fuel-water separator and air dryer that could be mounted on the same bracket.

Crossmember locations have also been optimized, further reducing the chassis weight.

Other features include an improved line of sight for drivers.
