WARRENVILLE, Ill. — International Truck and Engine Corporation has selected ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Systems business group to supply standard parts.

The partnership supplies International facilities with front and rear axles, brakes, hubs and drums, suspensions, wheel-speed sensors, and shock absorbers for the International 9000i-Series tractors and International 5000i-Series vehicles.

International plants in Garland, Tex. and Chatham, Ont. receive individual axles and brakes from ArvinMeritor’s Asheville, N.C., and Tilbury, Ont. plants in the arrangement.

This partnership allows International and ArvinMeritor to continue to collaborate closely to deliver on customer needs such as weight reduction, reduced maintenance costs, and improved reliability and durability in specific applications.

"The heavy-duty trucking industry is changing rapidly, and partnering with an innovative supplier such as ArvinMeritor will keep International at the forefront," said Jordan Feiger, vice-president and general manager, heavy vehicle center, International Truck & Engine Corporation.
