Internet of Trailers kits promise smarter trailers

Phillips Connect has assembled four “Internet of Trailers” kits that offer fleets a way to introduce smart trailer technology, supporting real-time diagnostics, detecting faults, and reporting trends.

Each kit promises an average payback within 12 months and an ROI of 500% after 10 years, the company adds.

Phillips Connect Smart upgrade kits include a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and can be installed in 30 minutes, offering a tool to monitor tire health and prevent early tire replacements.

Its counterpart, the Smarter Kit, features StealthNet gateways to tackle thefts, as well as TPMS, ABS fault code checks, door checks, and CargoVision monitoring capabilities. It can be installed in less than an hour.

Phillips Connect Smartest Kits build on that, featuring the StealthNet gateway, CAN communication, TPMS, ABS fault code checks, door checks, CargoVision, and an automatic tire inflation system (ATIS) lamp.
