TORONTO, Ont. – The publishers of Truck News, Truck West and Motortruck Fleet Executive have launched a new e-zine for maintenance managers, technicians and owner/operators who are responsible for their own maintenance.

Written and edited by Truck News and Truck West executive editor James Menzies, the new Maintenance Matters explores timely maintenance-related topics.

Inside the e-zine, you’ll find maintenance news, tech tips, new product info, a Q&A with an industry leader, and guest columns on topics such as lighting systems and maximizing fuel economy. No matter your level of experience or expertise, we’re confident you’ll learn something new that you can bring to the shop.

For example, did you know that servicing engine and other maintenance problems early can add 0.3-0.4 mpg to a truck’s fuel economy? Or that one faulty trailer light will add six points to your CSA score? Or that DEF consumption rates could increase 50-75% between 2014 and 2017 due to new engine calibrations resulting from the impending greenhouse gas regulations? You’ll find all that and more within the pages of the first edition of Maintenance Matters.

The first edition can be downloaded in PDF form, from under the Documents tab to the right of this story. To receive future editions free of charge in your Inbox, please e-mail a request to jmenzies@trucknews.com.
