J.J. Keller has introduced a virtual reality (VR) training as part of its online training platform, allowing users to navigate realistic safety and compliance scenarios through a compatible VR headset.

J.J. Keller’s VR training integrates with its existing learning management system, allowing customers to track VR course performance alongside e-learning, streaming video, and classroom-based programs, the company says, adding this setup keeps all training records in one place.

At launch, J.J. Keller is offering 16 VR courses covering workplace safety, transportation, and human resources, and it plans to expand its VR course library regularly.

Workplace safety courses include training on arc flash, confined space entry, electrical safety, fire safety, hazard recognition, hot work, ladder safety, lockout/tagout, and trenching and excavation safety. Transportation-related courses focus on pre-trip vehicle inspections, covering brake systems, engine and front axle checks, in-vehicle assessments, lighting systems, and full walk-around inspections. The company is also offering training on road safety involving traffic accidents with dangerous goods. In the human resources category, active shooter response training is available for office settings.

“By adding virtual reality training to our offerings, we’re providing our customers with an easy way to practice scenarios in a realistic, hands-on environment,” said J. J. Keller executive vice-president of technology solutions Lacie Callan in a release. “Whether in a confined space, working with machinery, or inspecting vehicles, virtual reality allows for self-paced learning in all types of situations that prepare employees to safely do their jobs.”
