J. J. Keller expands dash cam offerings
J.J. Keller & Associates has expanded its VideoProtects Fleet Camera System, now offering it across three different platforms to enhance driver safety management. The system, known for providing safety intelligence based on video footage of drivers and road events, is now compatible with J.J. Keller’s Encompass platform, the MyGeotab platform, and a new standalone option.
“This expansion gives fleets the freedom to choose a VideoProtects solution that’s part of a robust back-office platform or the new standalone option focused solely on identifying and addressing risky driving events,” said Jason Hartwig, J.J. Keller’s associate director of product management, in a news release.

The system uses AI-enhanced technology to detect hazards such as driver fatigue, tailgating, and forward collision warnings. It also monitors ‘trigger’ events like harsh braking and collisions using built-in G-sensors without requiring a telematics device.
When potentially dangerous events occur, the system can alert drivers with in-cab audible warnings and send video footage along with event data to fleet managers, enabling targeted driver coaching, Hartwig said. The system includes options for either driver- or dual-facing dash cams, video review and scoring features, live stream video, and event history logging.
