MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Great Dane Trailers has named Keith Monroe as director, Platform Trailer Fleet Sales, for the company’s platform operations.

In his new position, Monroe will be responsible for the oversight of all U.S. and Canadian platform fleet sales.

"We are very pleased to have Keith aboard," said Kit Hammond, president, Great Dane Trailers. "His credentials, coupled with an outstanding product, is an exciting pairing sure to bring about great things for our flatbed customers."

Monroe has a background of more than 30 years experience in the trailer industry. Most recently, he served as vice president of fleet sales for Fontaine Trailers, where he was employed for 18 years. The trailer business runs in the family Monroe’s father, Jim, worked for Lufkin for a number of years.

"I am very excited about the opportunity Great Dane has given me," Monroe said. "Simply put, my goal is to increase Great Dane’s presence in the flatbed and drop deck trailer market. Although this market is relatively small in comparison to the van and refrigerated trailer markets, it is a vital part of Great Dane’s continuing commitment to provide the very best in transportation products in the U.S. and Canada."
