KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kenworth is making its extended day cab and 38-inch AeroCab sleepers available as new options on its T800 wide hood model.

“Many oilfield, heavy haul, construction and other vocational customers operate the Kenworth T800 in wide hood configurations because of the model’s excellent durability, maneuverability and versatility,” said Mike Dozier, Kenworth chief engineer. “By adding options for Kenworth’s popular Extended Day Cab and AeroCab sleepers, including the 38″ AeroCab sleeper with new standard toolbox doors, customers will be able to take full advantage of the Kenworth T800’s versatility while promoting driver comfort and retention.”

The T800 is Kenworth’s leading vocational product. The extended day cab is six inches longer than standard models and the cab roof is raised five inches. It also features two inches of extra leg room as well as more room behind the wheel. This option also features two cubic feet of extra storage behind the driver’s seat.

The 38-inch AeroCab sleeper features extra headroom, a standard liftable bunk, increased storage over and under the bunk, lockable storage compartments and a swivel reading light. The AeroCab also features two 12″x20″ toolbox doors to provide outside access to storage areas under the bunk.

For those concerned about resale, Kenworth offers a conversion kit which can be used to change the AeroCab sleeper into an extended day cab.
