Kenworth plants receive ISO designation for environmental management

KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kenworth’s manufacturing facilities have earned ISO 14001:2004 certification for environmental management, the company announced.

The company’s plants in Chillicothe, Ohio and Renton, Wash. have earned the designation, which is awarded to facilities that employ effective environmental management systems.

“The Kenworth-Chillicothe and Kenworth-Renton manufacturing facilities have successfully developed and implemented innovative and effective, industry-leading systems designed around the theme of ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ to decrease emissions, noise and waste sent to landfills,” said Marilyn Santangelo, Kenworth assistant general manager for operations. “Kenworth’s certification to this challenging ISO standard for excellent environmental practices further helps to demonstrate that our products and services truly live up to Kenworth’s reputation as The World’s Best.”

Kenworth’s medium-duty plant in Ste. Therese, Que. also currently holds ISO 14001:2004 status.
