WASHINGTON, D.C. — Kenworth has received a Clean Air Excellence Award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its environmentally-friendly trucks and cab comfort solutions.

Kenworth said it’s the first truck maker to receive the award since its inception in 2000. The company received the award at a special ceremony in Washington, D.C. this week.

The award was given to Kenworth for its T270 Class 6 and T370 Class 7 diesel-electric hybrids, its T800 liquefied natural gas (LNG) truck and its Clean Power no-idle cab comfort system.

“The EPA Clean Air Excellence Award is a tremendous honour for Kenworth Truck Company and its employees,” said Bill Kozek, Kenworth general manager and PACCAR vice-president. “Kenworth is a leader of the trucking industry’s efforts to provide practical technologies, which help customers enhance fuel economy and reduce emissions.
