KW Body-Builder Manual

Kenworth has added a new medium-duty cabover body-builder manual and  cabover video, now available.

The comprehensive 84-page manual offers detailed sections on safety and compliance, dimensions, exhaust and aftertreatment, frame layouts and body mounting, frame modifications, and electrical. It contains information and guidelines useful in the truck-body planning and installation processes. Early in the vehicle definition and ordering process, body builders can often contribute valuable information that reduces the ultimate cost of the body installation, Kenworth notes.

The manual allows customers to view frame layouts, component placement, and other critical information before the customer purchases a Kenworth cabover. That helps to ensure that the truck is spec’d correctly and will be ready and set up appropriately for efficient turnaround by the body builder, says Kenworth

The K270 and K370 are powered by the 6.7-liter PACCAR PX-7 engine, which is rated up to 260 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque. Both models are standard with the 2100 HS Allison 5-speed transmission.

The company has also released a 90-second video on the K270 and K370 cabovers. It showcases their versatility, efficiency and reliability; wide cab with room for three people and unrestricted cab access; optimized driver comfort and excellent visibility; and easy access for maintenance.

The video is available on the Kenworth YouTube site here.
