LAMP COMBINES TECHNOLOGIES

Grote Industries has announced a new hybrid lamp to maximize cost-effectiveness in one of the most popular heavy-duty trailer applications. Hybrid LED/incandescent technology blends the best of both worlds by offering the light output of an incandescent light in the turn function and the low amp draw of LEDs in the ‘always on’ marker function for an inexpensive lamp.

The long-life, 1200-hour bulb in mid turn application is replaceable. The units also feature hydrophobic vent filters in the housing. The purpose of these vents is to expel water vapor when the lamp is lit, preventing water pooling inside. A foam gasket between the lens and housing provides added protection against moisture intrusion.

The “all lens” appearance of the lamp is a popular selling point in today’s trailer market, says Grote.
