Lightning tool to help plan EV fleets

Lightning eMotors is ready to help fleets configure electric vehicles with the help of a new virtual fleet planner.

Fleet managers enter fleet characteristics and receive a customized operating cost analysis along with carbon reduction metrics based on recommended Lightning electric vehicle models, the company says.

Recommendations reflect entered factors such as route distance, payloads, terrain, average temperature, drive cycles and driver behavior, shift duration, charging opportunity time, and dwell time. The results also identify associated charge rates.

The information draws on more than five years of data already drawn from the Lightning Insights telematics system.
