Lube Filter for the ISX15

Cummins Filtration has announced the release of its Fleetguard LF14000NN lube filter for all Cummins ISX15 diesel engines built after January 2010.

It’s the company’s first lube filter (Cummins part number 4367100) with NanoNet media, a patented polymeric nanotechnology-based synthetic media originally developed for Fleetguard fuel-filter applications. This technology is claimed to bring a new level of lube filter performance to the heavy-duty diesel engine market.

Many of the characteristics that make NanoNet media successful in fuel filter applications also translate well to lube filters, the company says. By pairing this media with the “proven” StrataPore synthetic media, its says the result is a lube filter that’s suited to today’s engine platforms and lubricants as well as those coming in the near future.

Introduced by Cummins Filtration in 2012, NanoNet filtration media is said to remove and retain 98.7% of all particles as small as 4 microns (12 times smaller than the smallest particle visible to the human eye). The 100% synthetic, multi-layer polymer design is thinner than a dime yet gives the media a robust structure, allowing for maximum contaminant-holding capacity over the course of the filter’s service life.

In the case of the LF14000NN lube filter, the NanoNet and StrataPore media structures work together for “best in class” particle removal, capacity, and cold-flow ability.

The NanoNet media structure is claimed to enable much higher cold-flow ability than competitors while retaining its high-efficiency characteristics in filtering lube oil. That ability means less restriction and faster oil lubrication during cold start-ups

The LF14000NN is suitable wherever an LF9080 was previously used and is the Cummins recommended upgrade performance filter.
