Mack Trucks global deliveries off 35 per cent

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — Deliveries from Mack Trucks, Inc. through November totaled 21,565 vehicles, down 35 per cent from the 33,041 units delivered during the same period last year.

Softness at home in North America accounts for the entire drop with sales totals hovering around 19,514 down 38 per cent from 31,666 deliveries last year.

South America’s relatively small total of 1,130 trucks represents a 120 per cent increase while other markets have enjoyed a modest seven point bump.

In response to the continued weakness in the North American truck market, Mack has announced three down weeks, or non-production weeks, at its Winnsboro, S.C. assembly facility from Dec. 31 through Jan. 18, and two down weeks at its Macungie, Pa. facility Dec. 31 through Jan. 11.
