LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — Unionized workers at seven facilities owned by Mack Trucks have ratified a new 40-month deal.

The deal covers about 1,700 United Auto Workers members at seven plants in three states, Mack announced. The new agreement will run from June 1 to Oct. 1, 2012.

“Mack and the UAW are committed to maintaining an effective working relationship focused on meeting the needs of our customers, and this agreement demonstrates that commitment,” said Mack president and CEO Dennis Slagle. “In addition to helping us address the current challenges facing our economy and our industry, the agreement will improve our competitiveness, and help position us for growth.”
