MCLEAN, Va. — NADA Used Car Guide has enhanced its ATD/NADA Official Commercial Truck Guide by adding a comprehensive set of values for Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), beginning with the December 2008 edition. The new APU values are designed to provide dealers, finance companies, insurance companies, fleets and other industry professionals with timely pricing information on an increasingly popular component of the used truck market.

“Fuel price volatility and government regulations have made APUs hot items,” says Chris Visser, editor of the Commercial Truck Guide. “Our sales data clearly suggests that APUs contribute to the value of a used truck.”

“ATD (American Truck Dealers) recognizes that dealers need reliable, market-reflective information on APU values in today’s sales environment to enhance their business performance,” said Gary Gibson, ATD chairman and owner of Tri-State Sterling Trucks, in Cincinnati, Ohio. “Valuing APUs in the Commercial Truck Guide is one more way we’re adding value for our members.”
