New and improved filters from Baldwin

Baldwin Filters
(June 5, 2002) — Baldwin Filters has improved its dual-flow lube filters used on Cummins ISX, ISM, and Series 600 engines. The High Velocity Dual-Flow line provides improved protection during high idle time, harsh operating conditions and extended service intervals.

Different from regular dual flow filters, the full-flow portion of this filter contains 100% synthetic Microglass media which is specifically developed to increase strength and the company says it is above average in efficiency and capacity while retaining its non-restrictive, flow-through characteristics.

The by-pass portion allows 15% of the oil to flow through this section of the filter instead of the usual 10%. A venturi-type cone creates a low pressure zone which pulls the filtered oil from the full-flow section and routes it through the by-pass cullulose media, which then removes the smaller contaminant particles, further cleaning the oil.

The high-Velocity filter’s spin-ons have only one inlet and outlet so filtered oil, from both the full-flow and by-pass sections, flows together at the base and then goes directly back to the engine to protect vital components.
