KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A new brochure from Dana Corporation’s Commercial Vehicle Systems group, highlighting the Dana Spicer SmartRide suspension family and its components, is now available. The six-page brochure presents a component-by-component overview of key product features and options available on this family of suspensions.

Dana officials say a SmartRide suspension customer will enjoy benefits such as fuel-savings, reduced maintenance, and increased payload due to the system’s weight-efficient, yet highly durable design. Officials say those results come from careful materials selection, the use of proprietary shape-optimization software, and industry-leading validation testing. The company says the brochure also illustrates how SmartRide suspensions are up to 18 per cent stronger than competitive designs to resist buckling.

The brochure describes Dana’s use of large diameter axle tubes that lower system weight by 30 lbs. and are designed to minimize tube deflection to help extend tire life and improve fuel economy. The brochure describes numerous SmartRide features and options, including air disc brakes, drum brakes, wide-base configurations for single tires, and Dana Spicer TIMS tire inflation and monitor system for trailers.

Dana’s lineup of SmartRide suspensions includes the RS Series of slider systems and the RF Series of fixed systems for a multitude of on-highway and linehaul applications.

The brochure, item number SUSL-0002, can be downloaded or ordered free of charge at www.Roadranger.com/SmartRide.
