New diagnostic tools from Allison

Allison Transmission has introduced Allison DOC For PC Version 2.0, a diagnostic software application supporting control systems for the Allison MD/HD product family and 1000/2000/2400 Series transmissions. The diagnostic software was formerly known as the Allison Transmission Diagnostic Tool (ATDT).

The Allison DOC For PC diagnostic tool helps technicians access diagnostic data from the transmission control system. The software gives the technician access to an electronic edition of Allison’s troubleshooting manuals. Among other updates in version 2.0: a new “data bus viewer” lets you capture, view, and save raw data transmitted on the vehicle bus. You can also view active and historical diagnostic trouble codes, and even reprogram the transmission.

Allison also introduced a version of the software for the Palm OS called Allison DOC For PDA. It supports control systems for the Allison MD 3000, HD 4000, B300, B400, B500, 3000 MH, 4000 MH, T 200, T 300, and T 400 using World Transmission Electronic Controls (WTEC II and WTEC III). The system can be used with or without Allison’s PC-based Allison DOC or the earlier-generation ATDT Version 1.1.

Allison DOC For PC is available from SPX/Kent Moore in Warren, Mich. (www.toolsfortrucks.com). Reference part number J-44950-B Allison DOC For PC. Allison DOC For PDA is available on CD only and can be purchased, along with the required hardware components, through B&B Electronics in Ottawa, Ill. (www.vehicleinterface.com).
