TORONTO, Ont. — GE Equipment Services is now offering a new inspection service for border-bound Canadian trailers.

The service, available through GE Trailer Fleet Services branches in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, provides an in-depth equipment inspection for US-bound trailers. The company said the new service will help fleets inspect and document the condition of their trailers, avoiding fines and delays at the border.

If repairs are required, GE Trailer Fleet Services will promptly complete the required work and get the trailer back in service quickly, the company announced.

Customers have asked for help in documenting the condition of their trailers at the border, said Trailer Fleet Services CEO Joe Artuso. In some cases they need repairs to ensure DoT compliance, and in other cases they are asking us to provide photos and other documentation so they can pursue damage claims against carriers. In fact, one carrier was paying more than $25,000 a month in fines before they came to us.

The service is also available in the US and Mexico. For more information, visit www.trailerservices.com, or call 800-333-2030.
