OTTAWA, Ont. — According to Statistics Canada, a total of 654,500 truck tractors and trucks weighing at least 4,500kg were registered in Canada in 2001.

That’s a little under the previous mark of more than 660,000.

In addition to these road motor vehicles, four million trailers and 1.3 million off-road, construction and farm vehicles were also registered.
