ON-LINE ROUTING, MAPPING

ALK Technologies has updated eMILER.com, its web-based routing and mapping resource. The latest version includes the data of PC*Miler 20, the 20th anniversary release of the software. It generates truck-specific routes, maps and driving directions across North America. Routes can be
purchased in packages of 100 routes for $50 to 1500 routes for $600, which works out to between 50 and 40 cents per route. A free trial “6-pack” of routes is offered.

The upgrade’s North American highway database includes more than 771,000 miles of truck-specific roadway and over 350,000 miles of commercial truck restrictions. Among those critical restrictions are heights and weights as well as limitations on 48- and 53-ft trailer lengths and 102-in. widths. It also includes more than 6000 updated truckstops from Comdata’s GeoFUEL network, 580 state weigh stations, 800 CAT weigh scales, and now more than 2100 American rest areas.
