Optronics Back-Up Lamps

Optronics International has expanded its One LED line of single-diode lamps with  its new BUL003CB 4-in. round and BUL002CB 6-in. oval back-up lamps. With a “highly competitive” price point and long life, they’re claimed to be a viable alternative to incandescent back-up lamps.

The Optronics One LED round back-up lampThey cost just twice the price of inexpensive incandescent lamps, the company says, but provide the equivalent of 50 times the service life. Competitive products can be as much four or even six times the cost of incandescents. Thus, a barrier has come down.

In engineering its new lamps, Optronics says it has taken advantage of progress made in LED technology and cost to create back-up lamps with the appearance of incandescent lamps. One big difference is that One LED lamps are covered by a no-hassle lifetime warranty and will provide a claimed service life of approximately 100,000 hours, as opposed to as little as 2000 hours from an incandescent lamp.

All One Series LED Lamps meet FMVSS 108 photometric requirements for visibility and safety. Their lenses and housings are made of polycarbonate material that is sonically welded, and they use a solid-state, surface-mount device design that protects their electronics against moisture, shock, and vibration.
