OTA HISTORY

In celebration of its 80th anniversary the Ontario Trucking Association has published ‘Trucking and Triumphs – 80 Years of the Ontario Trucking Association’. The 240-page book, full of photos and other memorabilia from OTA’s extensive archives, provides a decade-by-decade account of the major events and milestones in the evolution of Ontario trucking from its first truck to today’s position of dominance. It also profiles more than 60 OTA
member companies.

“The pages of this outstanding book are filled with the lore of the Ontario trucking industry – its leaders, its characters, its highs and even some lows, which in the end only made us stronger,” says outgoing OTA chairman Scott Smith of J.D. Smith & Sons.

“This book is a celebration of OTA’s first 80 years and the people who then and now provide the lifeblood of Canadian commerce. It is a tip of the hat to the industry’s builders and a history of how far the industry and OTA have come,” adds OTA president David Bradley.

The book is available for purchase from OTA for $15 for members ($20 non-members) plus applicable taxes and shipping.
