PACCAR offers incentives on Webasto cab comfort systems

FENTON, Mich. — PACCAR Parts is offering incentives towards the purchase of Webasto’s BlueCool Truck cab cooling system as well as its cab heater on new Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks.

The idle-reduction cab comfort systems will be available to Kenworth and Peterbilt dealers at a reduced cost during the months of May and June, the companies say.

BlueCool Truck is a cab cooling system that charges when the truck is being driven and then provides air conditioning with no fuel required when the truck is parked. It produces no emissions whatsoever, Webasto claims. The company’s diesel-fired cab heater can provide engine-off savings of about 19 gallons of fuel per 20-hour period compared to idling, according to Webasto.

With the pricing incentives offered by PACCAR, a payback of less than six months can be achieved, the company says.

“Webasto BlueCool Truck and Fuel Operated Heater are the cleanest, most fuel-efficient technologies available today and provide a driver with economical and ecological one-two punch,” said John Thomas, vice-president of marketing at Webasto. “The PACCAR offer makes it even more attractive for Kenworth and Peterbilt truck owners and operators to beat the fuel crunch.”
