International Truck and Engine has introduced a new cab sound insulation package that can decrease interior sound levels by up to 60%. It will be standard on the PayStar 5900 and an option on the 5500 and 5600 models. International says its testing found that the new insulation package reduces interior noise by approximately 3.7 decibels (dBA). A quieter cab means drivers can reduce their exposure to the loud sounds typically present on a job site, and that in turns reduces overall driver stress, while making it easier to hear co-workers and even emergency sirens. The PayStar name was re-launched earlier this year.
