LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Dana Spicer air disc brakes are now available for order with select Peterbilt models, Peterbilt announced at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

“The new air disc brakes are ideal for our over-the-road, linehaul customers, reducing standard tractor-trailer stopping distance and extending brake life by 50 to 100 percent,” said Bruce Ewald, Peterbilt Assistant General Manager. “They are easier to maintain for quicker, more efficient servicing. They also improve braking performance by reducing brake fade under high-temperature conditions, resulting in better control during braking and reduced stopping distances.”

Among the serviceability features of the new air disc brakes are quick-change pads and serviceable components that are interchangeable between the right- and left-hand wheel ends.

The new brakes are available for Peterbilt Models 379, 378 and 357 configured for on-highway applications and with set-forward front axles. Dana Spicer air disc brakes will be available for order with the Peterbilt Model 387 in the second quarter.
