LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Stainless steel Donaldson air cleaners are now available for select Peterbilt models, Peterbilt announced at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

“Peterbilt customers — fleets and owner-operators alike — take great pride in their trucks, and the Donaldson air cleaners will be a popular accent to enhance the appearance of their equipment and present a high quality, professional image to their customers,” said Bruce Ewald, Peterbilt Assistant General Manager. “They also outperform other air cleaner models and have longer service intervals for reduced operating costs.”

The air cleaners have 20 per cent more air flow and three times the filtration efficiency of competitive models, according to Donaldson’s Director of Engineering Marty Barris. The dust capacity is also five per cent higher for longer filter service life.

The new 15-inch, cowl-mounted air cleaners were developed jointly by Peterbilt and Donaldson. They are five pounds lighter than previously offered premium air cleaners and feature a highly polished finish on both the body and cap.

To create a sleeker appearance, the air cleaners were designed with hidden cap fasteners and an integrated twist-to-lock retainer for the screen assembly.

The stainless steel Donaldson air cleaners are available for Peterbilt Models 379, 378 and 357. They are standard on the company’s special edition Model 379X with a unique oval-pattern grille.
