LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Peterbilt’s special edition Model 379X –introduced specifically for owner/operators — will stop production in December.

The Peterbilt Motors Company made the announcement during its press conference at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

“The Model 379X’s impact on the marketplace has been incredible,” said Dan Sobic, Peterbilt General Manager and PACCAR Vice President. “Since its introduction, the Model 379X has fully lived up to our expectations. Customers are passionate about owning it, so much so that the customers who own the first one ever produced – Jerry and Ronda Diemoz of J & R Trucking – also want to own the last one to be produced.

“We want to end the Model 379X’s run to truly emphasize its special edition status in Peterbilt’s product history.”
Peterbilt introduced the Model 379X during the 2003 Mid-America Trucking Show and began production of the vehicle in September.
