Peterson Manufacturing introduces repairable J560 connector

Peterson Manufacturing has launched its repairable J560 connector, designed to help fleets avoid unnecessary downtime and costs when seven-way connectors are damaged.

According to the company, connectors are often destroyed when tractors pull away from trailers without disconnecting, when trailers drop dollies and connectors drag along pavement, or through yard damage. Even normal wear typically results in replacing entire cable assemblies, driving up expenses and waste.

The new connector is engineered to be replaced in less than a minute, without tools or cable loss. Peterson says the design was developed with input from fleet maintenance teams to ensure durability, ease of service and full compliance with SAE standards.

The connector can be serviced on-site without tools, cutting downtime and repair costs while reducing waste from discarded cable assemblies. Peterson says the design was validated in real-world fleet operations before release.
