ORLANDO, Fla. — Pilot Travel Centers, one of the largest chains of truck stops in the US, has unveiled a massive rollout plan to distribute Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) by 2010.

About 100 locations will offer bulk dispensers at the fuel island, while the chain’s 328 locations will all offer pre-mixed containers. Orders for the bulk dispensing units will begin within a few weeks.

“We fully expect most, if not nearly all, of our customers to adopt SCR technology beginning in 2010,” added Patrick Deptula, director of design and construction.

Drivers will be able to pay at the pump for the bulk purchases, just like they do with diesel fuel.
