ANAHEIM, Calif. — Iteris Inc. recently announced that Praxair Inc. has committed to an initial order of 200 new trucks with the Iteris Lane Guidance lane departure warning system installed.

In 2001, lane departures were listed as a factor in 43 per cent of all fatal accidents in the U.S.

Lane Guidance is a cost-effective tool to increase driver awareness and reduce accidents. The system is part of the Autovue product and was chosen by Praxair to increase the safety of the driver.

“We want to enhance the safe operation our fleet of more than 600 delivery trucks,” says John Mitchell, national manager of distribution for Praxair. “All of our new trucks will be spec’ed with the Iteris Lane Guidance system.”
