PROSTAR GETS ISX 600, C13

International’s new flagship ProStar tractor will be available with Caterpillar’s new C13 engine beginning this summer — about six months ahead of schedule – plus the new Cummins ISX 600 with 2050 lb ft of torque. The company’s own MaxxForce 11 and 13 engine offerings are also on tap.

The 12.5-liter C13 engine employs clean-diesel ACERT technology. It features a refined combustion process called Clean Gas Induction and a self-regenerating diesel particulate filter.

New to the ProStar this summer is the Cummins 600-hp ISX, the top horsepower rating offered by the Indiana-based engine manufacturer. It develops 1850 or 2050 lb ft of torque.

The International MaxxForce 11 and MaxxForce 13 engines provide up to 1700 lb ft of torque at 1000 rpm. They employ a high-pressure common-rail fuel system, twin-series turbochargers with interstage cooler, and Eco-Therm heat-management system.

The new International ProStar (122-in. BBC) began rolling off the assembly line in Chatham, Ont. this past January. The 113-in. BBC will be available for the 2008 model year.
