LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Great Dane Trailers has been awarded a customer excellence award by Pressure Systems International (PSI), which was presented at the recent Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS).

Great Dane was chosen for the award, according to PSI, due to its contribution in making the Meritor Tire Inflation System (MTIS by PSI), the most widely used tire inflation system spec’ for its trailers in 2007. PSI also reported that, because of promotions that began in 2006, MTIS has garnered nearly 30% of all installations on new Great Dane trailers produced in 2007.

Great Dane has also put programs in place for its fleet customers that make MTIS specification on new trailers “attractive,” states PSI, and retrofit kits and replacement parts are also offered through the dealership network. This is the second year in a row that Great Dane has won this customer excellence award, which garnered an expression of appreciation from PSI’s executive vice-president.

“To have a company with the quality reputation of Great Dane selecting MTIS as a preferred spec’ for their trailers is an outstanding achievement for us, and we are confident this relationship brings benefits to them as well,” said Frank Sonzala, at the MATS presentation ceremony.

In response, Great Dane’s vice-president of dealer sales and operations indicated that he recognized the value of a strong working relationship with PSI. “The factory and sales support provided by PSI has made this an easy product to install and sell,” said Chris Hammond. “They are a quality company and they have the kind of people we enjoy partnering with.”

The PSI award is a hand-crafted wooden scale replica of a Great Dane refrigerated trailer. Great Dane Trailers is a manufacturer of dry van, refrigerated and platform trailers.
