Rand McNally updates navigation software

by Today's Trucking

Rand McNally says it has provided a “massive” over-the-air update to its Rand Navigation software.

Among the enhancements are a new full map update and extensive improvements to the routing software and interface, the company says. The upgrades are available for all latest model Rand McNally TND and OverDryve tablets.

The enhancements include improvements to the company’s operating system, new content, and interface and feature enhancements. Locations and routings are more accurate, it claims.

Highways and roads, travel centers and truck services, and truck-specific points of interest have all been updated. The company says it now offers 33% more truck-specific road data compared to competitors.

Other enhancements include larger and brighter text, more visible points of interest, and double back arrows, as well as more estimated time of arrival options.
