Rand McNally’s solar tracker built to stand up to elements

by Today's Trucking

Rand McNally’s new solar-powered asset tracker – the TrueTrack S110 – has been designed to track trailers, equipment and other high-value assets under some of the most demanding conditions.

Its IP69K rating is the highest standard for protection against dust, close-range high-water pressure, and high-temperature liquids, the company says.

Unlike its battery-operated counterparts that have that certification, this unit achieves it with the added complexity of an inlaid solar panel, pressure equalization vent, and gasket.

The TrueTrack S110 will run up to 90 days between charges, and can be installed in less than 10 minutes. Locations are transmitted when assets are moving or still, using a built-in cellular modem that runs on a 4G LTE network.

The unit is part of Rand McNally’s connected fleet platform and can be used as a standalone product or added to a monthly subscription.
